The Chromosphere Underneath a Coronal Bright Point

چکیده
Abstract Coronal bright points (CBPs) are sets of small-scale coronal loops, connecting opposite magnetic polarities, primarily characterized by their enhanced extreme-ultraviolet (EUV) and X-ray emission. Being ubiquitous, they thought to play an important role in heating the solar corona. We aim at characterizing barely explored chromosphere underneath CBPs, focusing on related spicular activity effects flux emergence CBPs. used high-resolution observations a CBP H ? Observing the Roots of Solar Coronal Heating - in the Chromosphere
The Sun’s corona is millions of degrees hotter than its 5,000 K photosphere. This heating enigma is typically addressed by invoking the deposition at coronal heights of non-thermal energy generated by the interplay between convection and magnetic field near the photosphere. However, it remains unclear how and where coronal heating occurs and how the corona is filled with hot plasma. We show tha...
متن کاملThe Magnetic Association of Coronal Bright Points
Several coronal bright points identified in a quiet region of the Sun from SOHO/EIT Fe XII images are found to have a time evolution from birth to decay which is extremely well correlated with the rise and fall of magnetic flux as determined from photospheric magnetograms made with the SOHO/MDI instrument. Radiative losses of the bright points are found to be much less than conductive losses bu...

We present a novel gasdynamic model of the corona and transition region confined by a static flux tube. Our model allows completely general specification of an asymmetric flux tube geometry, so that detailed comparison with observations can be made. Nonlocal effects such as opacity and ambipolar diffusion are important to the transition region; it is shown that these effects can be modeled loca...
متن کاملCoronal heating in coupled photosphere-chromosphere-coronal systems: turbulence and leakage
Context. Coronal loops act as resonant cavities for low-frequency fluctuations that are transmitted from the deeper layers of the solar atmosphere. These fluctuations are amplified in the corona and lead to the development of turbulence that in turn is able to dissipate the accumulated energy, thus heating the corona. However, trapping is not perfect, because some energy leaks down to the chrom...
متن کاملMicroflaring of a solar Bright Point ?
A 50 x 50 arc sec region near the solar disc center containing a bright point (BP) was observed with the SUMERspectrograph of the SOHO observatory. The data consist of two hours observation of four far-UV emission lines formed between 2 10 – 6 10 K, with 2 arc sec spatial, 2.8 min temporal and 4 km/s spectral resolution. A striking feature was the strong microflaring of the major persistent BP ...
